NASCC Preview: SDS/2, Virtual Steel Technologies Weigh In on Global ModelingJanuary 2, 2018
At the upcoming NASCC — which will be held April 11th through the 13th in Baltimore, Maryland — SDS/2 and one of its customers will take center stage at a session highlighting the role global modeling has in an ever-changing industry.
James Schwartz from SDS/2 will be among the speakers for The Changing Business Climate: How Global Modeling is Affecting Our World. The session, which will be held Wednesday, April 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., will be moderated by James Stever of Virtual Steel Technologies. The discussion will focus on how architectural and structural Revit models — along with product models from precast and joist — became the primary or governing tools to develop the manufacturing/detailing model on the Liberty School of Music (SOM) and the Jerry Richardson Stadium. It will also showcase how model collaboration and cloud-based methods were used to accelerate a portion of the design and the approval.
In a preview of the NASCC session, Stever, Schwartz and co-presenters Andrew Ruffin, PE and John Ottinger, provided a look at their experience with model-based workflows and advice and how it can be used moving forward in the January issue of Modern Steel Construction.
