SDS/2 Users Group Attendees and Sponsors Make Event a SuccessOctober 22, 2014
On October 15 through 17, SDS/2 customers and partners gathered in Lincoln’s Embassy Suites for three days of networking, breakout sessions and entertainment at the 2014 SDS/2 Users Group Conference.
A keynote speech on Wednesday led by David Gregor of Innovative Steel Detailing kicked off the conference. Gregor explained what it takes to build a high performance detailing team. To summarize a few of the things he highlighted in his speech, here are the five main tenants of functional teams:
1. Atmosphere of trust
2. Healthy conflict
3. Commitment to the organization
5. Attention to results
Following the keynote address and Design Data update, customers and Design Data representatives met for roundtable discussions. These meetings are one of the best ways for us to get customer feedback on the software and how it works for the people who use it everyday.
Thursday and Friday morning were dominated by breakout sessions offering a closer look at SDS/2 2015 and its numerous enhancements. These sessions were also an excellent time for users to learn more about the intricacies of the software and gain insight from other users. Sessions varied from more introductory tutorials to advanced lessons exploring the new features in SDS/2 2015.
Attendees spent Thursday evening at the Nebraska Champions Club right across the street from the iconic Memorial Stadium in Downtown Lincoln. The theme was a throwback to the 80s, complete with scrunchies, 80s-themed centerpieces and fanny packs!
At dinner, the winners of the 2014 Solid Steel Competition were announced. You can see our Facebook album of the winners here, and stay tuned to our Facebook page for shots of their models.
After the meal, Design Data hosted a carnival in the basement of the building with several different games that attendees could play to win tickets. These tickets were drawn later in the night to select winners of prizes like a Surface Pro, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Omaha Steaks gift cards and more.
We’d like to thank all the people who came out for this year’s Users Group Conference, and of course our sponsors and partners who made it all possible!
